Umauma Falls
The Umauma Falls Experience is a Snorkel Bob consultant fave for the zip/waterfall combo. Located 10 minutes from Hilo & 30 minutes from Volcanoes National Park, a fun & adventurous outing awaits. Schedule a late-morning zip, visit Hilo Hawaiian plantation town, then head to Volcanoes National Park to see the bright orange lava flow after dark. 9 ziplines total (4 side by side), with a suspension bridge crossing over a lava tube & fern grotto. The zip course includes scenic views from the 100 foot Umauma Waterfall to Mauna Kea, with zip crossings over rivers and waterfalls, a close-up view of a dual Umauma waterfall & occasional hawk sightings. Due to zipline angles, weight & age requirements are 35 lbs. min. to 265 lbs. max, ages 4 & up, under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. A nearby tropical botanical garden provides amusement for a friend or family member who wants to skip the zip experience.
